Teacher training in Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire
Welcome to
SATA
Train to teach in our friendly, supportive South Oxfordshire primary school and have your fees paid
We require for September 2025 excellent graduates to join our team as trainee primary school teachers. Applications from all graduates will be welcomed.
The teacher training course will span one year, culminating in the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). This is an exciting opportunity for graduates who are passionate about education and eager to make a difference in the classroom.
Our primary school teacher training programme covers Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Berkshire, and we are excited to welcome trainee teachers from a variety of locations. Whether you’re based in and around Oxford, Aylesbury, or High Wycombe, or closer to Henley-on-Thames, Marlow, Maidenhead, or Reading, we encourage you to apply and join our vibrant community of educators.

St Andrew’s sponsor trainees to cover the QTS fees. You can also gain a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education).

The St Andrew’s Teaching Alliance (SATA) has supported trainee teachers from throughout Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire. Whilst the bulk of trainees’ time will be spent in Chinnor, Oxfordshire, part of the course will be carried out at the University of Reading in Berkshire. This makes the course particularly suitable for graduates living in and around Henley-on-Thames, Marlow, High Wycombe, Reading and Maidenhead. Oxford, Wallingford, Aylesbury, Thame and Princes Risborough are also within comfortable reach.
“Training as a SATA student means that you experience all the ins and outs of the whole school year: school plays, parents’ evenings, sports day, school trips, ready for when you do it yourself with your own class. The course prepares you entirely to become a fully qualified teacher.”

“The SATA programme has been the perfect way for me to develop my teacher training in a supportive and practical environment. Being able to fully immerse yourself within the culture of a single school throughout the year provides an invaluable experience. I would heartily recommend the programme to anyone!”

St. Andrew’s Church of England Primary School is a friendly, popular school nestled in the heart of Chinnor, Oxfordshire, at the foot of the beautiful Chiltern Hills. We offer a nurturing and inspiring environment for all who learn and work here.
At the heart of our school is a clear and meaningful vision:
“We aim to bring children to a place where they can realise their full potential.”
These four guiding principles – Protect, Trust, Hope, and Persevere – shape our relationships and our commitment to helping every child thrive.
